Our History
Our core offering, the monthly breakfast meeting for brokers and leasing reps that has come to be known as 'Rise & Grind', is regularly attended by 30-40 dealmakers who come together in order to generate business. Founded by a group of dealmakers led by Chris McMahon, we have now consistently held these meetings for over five years since our start in 2014. Our regular attendees include the most active and productive landlord and tenant dealmakers in the retail and restaurant real estate leasing profession in the northeast. In addition to Rise & Grind, we also host a well-regarded party at ICSC RECon in Las Vegas each year, and have organized multiple leasing bootcamps taught by the Canvassing Queen, Beth Azor. Starting in 2020, we launched this site in order to provide greater connectivity and added services.

Rise & Grind and the New England Retail Dealmakers group is run by four commercial retail real estate leasing professionals based in the greater Boston area.
Chris McMahon - Director of Brokerage, Summit Realty Partners
Chris McMahon oversees brokerage services throughout the Summit Realty Partners portfolio. His responsibilities include the representation of commercial real estate landlords, investors, developers, and tenants. Chris has been involved in more than 300 transactions worth over $150 million in transaction volume and many significant real estate development projects throughout his career. Chris currently represents a variety of retailers, restaurants and fitness concepts. Chris is an active volunteer with the International Council of Shopping Centers as a past Chair of the New England Conference and Dealmaking show in Boston, MA and holds the role of the Eastern Division Next Generation Chair. |
Evan Eisenhardt - SVP of Leasing, Linear Retail Properties, LLC
Evan Eisenhardt is Senior Vice President and Head of Leasing at Linear Retail Properties. Evan is responsible for leading and managing the leasing department to a goal of 100% occupancy and guiding the organization in the goal in becoming one of the leading owners of shopping centers in New England. This includes preparing for changes in the retail industry through new relationships with new uses, leading leasing strategies and developing and motivating the leasing and asset management teams. |
Sam Kallmerten - Sr Leasing Representative, Brixmor Property Group
In his role at Brixmor Property Group (NYSE: BRX), Sam oversees leasing for a portfolio of 17 shopping centers for the REIT. This consists of approximately 3 million square feet of primarily grocery-anchored community and regional centers. During his time at the company, Sam has been the primary deal leader for over 230 transactions, and has also played a key role in the repositioning and redevelopment of several anchor boxes and outparcel developments. Sam serves as the Next Gen Chair for New England, overseeing the Nextgen Committees in NH, MA, RI, and ME. He is a Certified Leasing Specialist designation holder from the ICSC, and is a licensed real estate broker in NH & MA. |
Michael Branton - Partner, Conviser Property Group, Inc.
Michael is a fifteen-year retail real estate veteran, focusing on shopping center leasing, suburban and urban retail, and tenant representation. Mr. Branton graduated from Gettysburg College with a B.A. in History and Spanish and has received his certificate in Commercial Real Estate from Boston University. He holds Real Estate Broker licenses in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, and New York. Mr. Branton is a very active member in ICSC, a member of the NH Next Generation Committee, and ICSC state Government Relations chair for MA. |
